Health and Safety

The Lauder Group employs over 650 staff in a diverse range of disciplines.
Health and safety is fundamental to each discipline ranging from childcare to construction to administration to mechanical engineering.
The following pages identify a range of programmes that are offered by the Lauder Group.
WHY BOTHER?...
MORAL RESPONSIBILITY...
Employers have a moral responsibility to ensure the health and safety of their workforce and the general public.
LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY...
Employers with five or more employees are required to prepare a written statement of their general health and safety policy setting out aims and objectives for improving health and safety….
Employers must appoint one of more competent persons to provide occupational health and safety assistance.
FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY...
Employees who are injured or made ill at work are entitled to sue their employer for compensation.
This will only succeed if they can establish that their employer was negligent, and/or in breach of their statutory duty.
